Aromatherapy at Airlie Complementary Clinic.

Jacqueline Brodie. B.F.R.P.

The Bach Flower Remedies, discovered in 1938 by Dr Edward Bach, are flower and plant essences which help to balance the emotions and so enable you to take control of the way you feel, help you move forward and manage the emotional demands of everyday life. More and more medical experts agree that a healthy mind really does ensure a healthy body, many physical ailments are a direct result of an emotional problem. Once the emotional cause is addressed the body's own defences can then deal with the physical problem more efficiently.
Some conditions the remedies can treat include stress and overwork, M.E. depression, insecurity, phobias, grief, menopause and other hormonal imbalances, hyperactivity, shyness, the list is endless. The remedies come in liquid form and are made up in a treatment bottle. The treatment is taken as drops on the tongue or in a drink. The Bach Flower Remedies are totally non-invasive and so can be taken safely in conjunction with any other form of medication or treatment. They are suitable for men, women and children (and indeed, animals).

Aromatherapy oils have long been recognised as having very efficient medicinal and life-enhancing qualities. Therapeutic massage using a synergistic blend of specially selected essential oils can help soothe the spirit and aid recovery from a variety of ills both physical and emotional. Aromatherapy is very effective in treating a variety of conditions from stress, muscle tension, arthritis to sinus complaints, hormonal imbalance and skin conditions. Treatment is designed to meet the needs of the individual and can range from a head, neck and shoulder massage, a back massage or a full body massage depending on the problem. Whether the condition is acute or chronic, regular aromatherapy treatment can bring relief and help maintain general health and well being.
